Kindness.

it's rare that you find something that's groovy as well as trancy and ambient.
KINDNESS

woah.
elements of ambient euro-trance with organic percussion and 70s pop / rock n' roll vocals.
killer. my new study music.

also pretty hair. bye.

Morten Breum ft. Rebecca and Fiona - Larva (Far Away)

when it gets frigid and rainy i like to have some pounding trance for long walks in the east coast rain. feels appropriate somehow? can't listen to moombahton in the rain.
lies no one has ever not wanted to listen to moombahton EVER

REBECCA AND FIONA

just listen to those sweet voices.
enjoy your rain friends.

i suppose they call it chillstep?

there's something about over-compartmentalizing electronic music that i'm  endlessly attached to, yet naturally reject. chillstep just sounds like a cop-out to me. seems like artists keep conjuring up new names for things that can be described more in depth using current terms. maybe i'd say something closer to acoustic indie ambient trance...
 but call me old fashioned.

the original by Benjamin Francis Leftwich

(backwards in the video title. idiots.)
was one of my top travel jams when i was backpacking, and whenever i was by the sea it kept me feeling like i never actually moved. lovely to see it revisited with a couple rimshots and a bit of ambient echo. his voice can really do anything.

while we're discussing chill indie vibes one can't ignore this gem.

go make some toast and enjoy something slightly uptempo.

good morning

long time.

'sbeen a while now han't it. miss me?
*cricket*
how has it taken me this long to find the greatest Australian things around?

KITO + REIJA LEE

Kito in particular. considering this aussie gal has released tings on Skream's label AND diplo's label ... what have i been so distracted by that it caused me to miss this duo
(probably shiny things)
there's a big ol boost on her facebook page, read up here and she'll tell you how legitimately fresh she is. valid point.

their kickin Sweet Talk EP is very rebecca & fiona-style, with sharp percussion, mad bass, melodic trance synths and haunting female voices. exactly what we like.

if you're a sorta Icona Pop, Purity Ring, Rebecca&Fiona type like me, dig in PLEASE
i haven't found one thing by Kito that's less than perfect.

YOUR TASK:
1) find the youtube videos for all the songs on the Sweet Talk EP
2) enter the links in to offliberty.com
3) mad payoff

ENJOY. happy summer ducks.

where have i been all my life...

hunched under a rock perhaps? how else would i have missed this London-native drum&bass master.

SUB FOCUS

a really nice balance between drum&bass and electronica, with a cute little periodic sub quiver.
yeah... in a word: balanced.
nifty video too.

for another nice part-trance-part-dubstep-part-wicked-light-show video of his try this out
get dancing kids.

let's address this album please.

KASKADE.
baby.
can we take a minute to appreciate this man please?
you simply can't argue with that soul patch
it looks at me and says "bro. i'm ill."

TRANCE and I were always on speaking terms but i was never about to tear all my clothes off and proclaim my endless love for it.
we always had a nice nice minute and a half date and then i'd realize i'd just rather be with Robyn instead.

and then. and then there was Fire and Ice.
this album is an absolute dream. it's been out for a bit now and for every pulsing, bass-heavy, drop-heavy house track
there's a smooth, rolling ice remix for when you need a little electro lullaby

This thing is so perfectly balanced.
He's expanded from the usual trancy Ibiza deal, and you'll find
dubstep, classic house, quiet, heavy, and some ethereal female voices.
Eyes with Mindy Gledhill
ooh it moves so nicely.

Lick It ft. Skrillex
So fresh. The man somehow took that classic Daft Punk sound we all love, mixed with some dubstep and trancey transitions and damn. just gimme a minute.

Just get the album alright?
