better remixes of some saucy females

what's this?!
KASKADE
the king of trance himself, with a drum&bass track?! unexpected, i feel it too.
but perfectly executed and my car speakers have been raging to it almost as much as i have.

and now for the most recent gem, a vicious housey situation all over Beyonce's best track ever. thanks for that
CHRISTIAN DAVIES.
we're ignoring the rhythm situation at 1.17, cause otherwise it's wonderfully fun and summery.
we approve.

both females featured here taking their inaugural places on pickledbeat, congratulations fellow femmes, you are now worthy.
what's wrong with my words.
whatever, go to sleep.

things related to calvin.

i love it when i don't have to connect my thoughts in one post, and a particular artist happens to do that for me. allow me to introduce my dear friend
CALVIN HARRIS:
entertain me please, sir.
after a long and stable love affair with the Scottish dance fiend he seems to have reappeared once again at the top of my Recently Added.
 you had me at Scottish.

first, alongside FLORENCE in this lovely new remix of her dreamy future single...

just when you thought you'd never experience Florence sans harp/sans orchestra, another blossoming creature is converted to the electronic way of life. victory is ours.

next, my good man GABE recently threw down a super fun housey Calvin remix.
just a little more electro to suit your now-warmed-up palettes.
i quite appreciate it when a remix makes it feel like the original artist was eaten by zippers.
the man has a gift.

to close, i intended on perusing the new SCISSOR SISTERS whirlwind of a single (produced by my good Scottish friend) but then they went and did this on the Graham Norton show and i figured we had to discuss it.

we had to top things off with a funky and damn catchy night cap now didn't we.
what with all that gospel choir and Ana Matronic's sassy New York strut i need nothing more. this one's really gold. with your classic Scissor Sisters falcetto and disco feel, get set for a big great new pop album WHICH DROPS TOMORROW!

oh happy day.
sweet soundly my dears.

but actually this song. tasty. wait it out, the drop will change your life. that's all i have to say.
roll on.

lapalux

this is how i feel about this song:

Not a massive fan of ambient electronica but this little trick by
LAPALUX
is so percussive and painful that i've fallen in love.

for one thing: LIANNE LA HAVAS has the most exhaustingly beautiful voice. so wonderful it's tiring. a wicked songwriter too, check out more super cute funny tings by her here

but it's the little tricky ticks and knocks that Lapalux layers over her ghostly sweet soul voice that spice up this heartbroken ballad.

a wonderful achievement.

shameless plugging of the boy who lives in my basement.

of course.
within hours of starting this blog and 2 hours of his latest release
i'm already plugging Gabe Flaherty.

we've all been through the dubstep Adele remixes. although I love me some soft female voices thrown up against nasty ass bass that'll leave your speakers weeping, it's kinda been done.
and kinda been beat over the head with a crowbar

But this. kid.
makes the illest mixes.
he'll throw you a classic house beat with just enough dubstep to ground it in the soles of your feet, then shake it up with essentially everything you'll want in a remix.
There's variety, there's balance, it's just ill.

Also every so often a little nostalgic chiptune pops in.
just to remind you of your Anamanaguchi days of the tenth grade... but without being overwhelming.
cause let's be honest those were dark times.

i can't get over his remix of Toes.
Of course the new LIGHTS release, Siberia has been the soundtrack to my autumn and i'm bound to like just about anything coming out of that cheeky little canadian.

this chick absolute dynamite, and he treats her well... the remix highlights her.
it's true to her style of intergalactic melody but pushes it to the max--while still complimenting her simple but powerful vocal melodies.

this kid's great.
he's in the LIGHTS remix contest and he's gonna OWN so please vote for the kid.

please?
