Sweet Nothing - Florence + Calvin Harris

this track.
this track.

FLORENCE + CALVIN HARRIS

her voice turns a little old school house when she's with Calvin, and together they've been making so much electro magic.
member when he did this instead?

what a funny little Scot. I die.

things related to calvin.

i love it when i don't have to connect my thoughts in one post, and a particular artist happens to do that for me. allow me to introduce my dear friend
CALVIN HARRIS:
entertain me please, sir.
after a long and stable love affair with the Scottish dance fiend he seems to have reappeared once again at the top of my Recently Added.
 you had me at Scottish.

first, alongside FLORENCE in this lovely new remix of her dreamy future single...

just when you thought you'd never experience Florence sans harp/sans orchestra, another blossoming creature is converted to the electronic way of life. victory is ours.

next, my good man GABE recently threw down a super fun housey Calvin remix.
just a little more electro to suit your now-warmed-up palettes.
i quite appreciate it when a remix makes it feel like the original artist was eaten by zippers.
the man has a gift.

to close, i intended on perusing the new SCISSOR SISTERS whirlwind of a single (produced by my good Scottish friend) but then they went and did this on the Graham Norton show and i figured we had to discuss it.

we had to top things off with a funky and damn catchy night cap now didn't we.
what with all that gospel choir and Ana Matronic's sassy New York strut i need nothing more. this one's really gold. with your classic Scissor Sisters falcetto and disco feel, get set for a big great new pop album WHICH DROPS TOMORROW!

oh happy day.
sweet soundly my dears.

all the foxes

FOXES
the gal's got so much news.
behold, a new video and a spankin new super fresh demo track. read on friends.

the new video is wonderfully childish and bored, can't hate on it if it leads to a beach.
it's much less orchestral and symphonic than her debut track, Youth (although i did hear a timpani in there... i see you baby) and structurally it's much more of a pop song.

but fear not kids, it'll still give you that great crisp percussion and some ambient instrumental vocals. overall verdict: a solid indie pop track. anticipate plenty of remixes to come.

BUT WAIT.
she also just unleashed a sneaky demo version of an unreleased track on earmilk.com

as mentioned on earmilk the track was "co-written with Kid Harpoon (a major contributor to Florence + The Machine's latest album Ceremonials)" and we can definitely feel florence in the stocatto plucking of those fine strings. the song builds wonderfully, similarly to Youth, or any Florence song. can't wait to hear it released on her future EP, comes out July 1st.

cheers for now.
