time to follow up on DANGER EP.

I. AM. DYING.
over this track.

KATY B x DIPLO x IGGY AZALEA

it's been the soundtrack of my last 24 hours, and the theme song of this killer beautiful paper i'm writing on the art of dress and undress in 16th century Italian courtesan portraiture
they're so beautiful :3

easily my favourite track of the Danger EP--first album thing she's released in like... what... 2 years? 3 years? SO LONG.
overwhelmed. not my favourite bit by iggy but i'll move past it.
that little spot at 1.37 is HEART BREAKING. so beautiful.
amazing how such a syrupy R&B voice can produce something so soft and sweet yet still compliment diplo's vicious moomba beats.

she's a queen.
i love this girl.
oh katy b.
sweet dreams doll.

london baby

meant to discuss this back when it came out in February.
but then a unicorn ate my internet. oops.

LONDON 2012
of all the opportunities to expose the best in underground (well... hardly over there) electronic / dance music, this is the big one.
so stoked for my favourite revolutionaries to get some kicking exposure and really represent not just UK music but LONDON. music.

First to pop up on the international scene, my dearest
KATY B
in the London Coke ads. power baby.

of all the percussion to that could be used to accent electro beats--there's nothing like a ping pong ball.
of course it's not her best. and of course 1L of coke uses 9L of water (not exactly my favourite of all corporation) but ultimately this year London is gonna have some sensational world exposure. get ready and keep those ears peeled.

rae.

like a freakin ray of sunshine.

good heavens i think i'm beaming...
etta bond WHO EVEN ARE YOU?
i first found this little gal mashing up some acoustic ed sheeran:

but who woulda thunk that this stunning acoustic soul voice would be the first artist signed to LABRINTH's label, not to mention collaborate with Wretch 32.

what's this i hear?
soul... UK... grime... DUBSTEP?!
WHO IS THIS WOMAN?!
her and katy b seem to have the perfect formula down: a smooth soul voice on vicious grime/dubstep beats. i die. gets right in my bones.

approved.
cheers ducks.

i tip my hat to you miss.

yes indeed.
miss KATY B is seriously channelling the queen herself, Robyn, in this sensational acoustic version of her smooth and pumping drum n bass track, Broken Record.

i like her yellow socks.

and you gotta commend a woman who can sing such a difficult and beautiful love song over the white background noise of another festival performer.
her mini horn section is perfectly discreet. as a sax player myself, i gotta agree that damn it's hard to play that quiet.
approved.

reminds me of a gal named ROBYN.
when she first transitioned into the fancy electro-pop-bot sound of her first independent record she kept it real by still performing her old teen pop hits.
She masterfully transformed the 90s anthem Show Me Love into a shy, curious and twinkly acoustic number.

what a woman.
gotta love a gal who can still sing her teen one hit wonder like she loves it.

viva acoustelectronica.

i just want it louder.

she deserves a way longer post.
but she must promptly be represented here in all her east london glory .

goodness me KATY B.

saw her at Wembley in the UK, been a long time fan.
damn this east london dubstep/grime/house little vixen is my ultimate.
she's perfect. that's all. just listen. you're welcome world.

love you long time katy.
